If you haven’t submitted an abstract to the 2013 AMS Python Symposium, the deadline has been extended to August 28th! Here’s the call; the link to submit is on the left of that page.
Also, at this year’s AMS, there will be four Python short courses: one beginner’s, one intermediate, and two advanced. The beginner’s and intermediate will be two days each while the advanced courses will be one day each. Here are the titles and dates of the short courses:
- AMS Short Course: A Beginner’s Course to Using Python in Climate and Meteorology: Saturday-Sunday, January 5-6, 2013.
- AMS Short Course on Intermediate Python: Using NumPy, SciPy, and Matplotlib: Saturday-Sunday, January 5-6, 2013.
- AMS Short Course: High Performance Python for Climate Science: Saturday, January 5, 2013.
- AMS Short Course on Big Data, Distributed systems Analyses: UV-CDAT: Sunday, January 6, 2013.
